2012-2013 saw the pilot year of the Bedfordshire and Luton Community Learning Trust (The Trust).
The Trust, commissioned and supported by the Skills Funding Agency (SFA), brought together the county’s five key stakeholders in receipt of direct funding from the SFA to work collaboratively in support of Community Learning across Bedfordshire and Luton.
The Community Learning Fund (CLF) is one element of the work carried out by The Trust.
Developed to replace and enhance what was previously known as Neighbourhood Learning in Deprived Communities (NLDC) the CLF is designed to specifically support and encourage the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) and other third sector and not for profit organisations in delivering innovative learning that supports disadvantaged adults and addresses local needs and key priorities.
The Learning Partnership together with Luton Adult Learning worked together to launch the CLF in 2012. Following the application and contracting process a number of projects were successfully delivered across the county – for more info please see the Community Learning Fund 2012-13 Final Evaluation Report .
